SmartWay is an innovative partnership that improves fuel efficiency and reduces greenhouse gases and other air pollutants from goods movement. Designed to create a market-based system to incentivize good performers, this program, launched by the United States Environmental Protection Agency in 2004 and boasting nearly 3,000 industry partners, is now available to Canadian companies through Natural Resources Canada.
Speaker BioLynda Harvey is a Senior Manager, at FleetSmart, in the Industry and Transportation Energy Use Division of Natural Resources Canada's Office of Energy Efficiency.
A respected and widely recognized contributor to the transportation sector, Lynda is responsible for strategic planning, program expansion, industry awareness and partnership development for commercial and institutional fleets.
Joining FleetSmart 12 years ago, Lynda brought over 35 years of business and program development as well as marketing experience in transportation in Canada and Internationally. She was also the 'driver' in the development of the first memorandum of understanding between NRCan's FleetSmart and the EPA's SmartWay Transportation Partnership working towards the harmonization of efforts between governments.
A popular presenter on the subject of energy efficiency in transportation, Lynda is a graduate of Carleton University, has received several awards from both Natural Resources Canada and the EPA and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport, located in London, UK.
