Customs and Logistics Certificate - Online
Course Outline: This certificate prepares graduates for positions with customs brokerages and private businesses in logistics and freight forwarding. There are six required courses covering topics like statutes and regulations, customs administration, and brokerage and logistics. This is a structured online program with scheduled intakes. The courses are designed to be done over 14 weeks (each). Learners have dates by which assignments and quizzes must be submitted and exams must be taken.

Course Outline: Graduates of the International Trade and Transportation program receive a broad training in the fundamentals of business and their application to trade and transport. The full-time day program focuses on ensuring that students meet industry set standards and designations including CITT, CIFFA, CILTNA, CITP, and CSCB. Successful graduation requires that students complete an industry based project. The program, said to contain an extremely heavy work load requires students to carry an average of up to 30 hours of classes per week. Instructors average in excess of 12 years work experience and academic qualifications prior to being appointed to faculty.

Course Outline: GLOBAL LOGISTICS and SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT (SCM).
Building upon the previous experience and/or education of the students, this program will provide an intensive and co-ordinated approach to study the flow of goods and services from raw material suppliers to the final customer. This product flow will be reviewed from a global perspective, thus providing the student with a comprehensive understanding of the international business process.
Students in this program will be given the opportunity to go on field trips and network with members of the Supply Chain and Logistics Asociation of Canada. Hands-on SAP and Microsoft software exercises are used to demonstrate concepts in several courses. See course outlines.
Graduates of this program will be prepared for initial career opportunities as transportation, supply chain, inventory, purchasing and logistics analysts/coordinators, with the potential to progress to managemetn positions within a few years.

Program Overview: Sheridan’s Business Process Management is a one-year graduate certificate program designed to teach the skills required to succeed in the area of business process management. Supply Chain applications are the central theme of the program, with Government/Health Care and Financial Services as other key themes. Students learn how to design innovative or improved business processes to address specific business needs, clearly identifying the financial, operational and strategic implications and justification for all relevant parties. This entails applying specific business process practices, emerging technologies, business process analysis and design as well as broader business skills. This program is interactive and taught in a mobile computing environment including laptops in Internet-connected classrooms. The delivery model provides flexibility to balance school, personal, and employment commitments.

Course Outline: This one year training program is designed to provide students with knowledge and skills enabling them to fill various positions in Distribution, Materials Management, Purchasing, Inventory Control, Shipping and Receiving. This program also leads to positions in dangerous goods (WHMIS and TDG) management and Logistics. Emphasis is placed on Logistics Principles and proper material handling procedures. Stress is also placed on the importance of equipment selection to properly handle freight in order to prevent damage. Practical projects, a job exposure session, and field trips help students to apply theory and become familiar with the realities of the job market.

Course Outline: Certificate in Supply Chain Management and Logistics (30 credits) The ten course program will provide students with a strong background in manufacturing supply chain environments, distribution and logistics functions.
